Our Mission
Santa's Workshop at The Great Place is a non-profit organization dedicated to bringing joy to children ages 6 months to 12 years in the Fort Cavazos military community during the holiday season. We focus on supporting active-duty military families facing financial challenges. Operating solely on volunteers, we have a record of serving over 2000 children in 2023. Join us in making a difference in the lives of military families!
Our Vision

We strive to continuously expand our reach and impact, ensuring that no child is left without a gift and no family feels unsupported. By fostering a strong community of dedicated volunteers, we aim to serve even more children each year, spreading happiness and building a resilient, compassionate community."
Our Board
We are a dedicated group of military spouses and supporters who spend countless hours preparing a holiday surprise for military children, acknowledging the financial challenges military families face. Our goal is to build positive relationships, support our soldiers, and create lasting holiday memories for their families. We believe every child deserves a joyful holiday season, regardless of circumstances.
Santa's Workshop at The Great Place (previously known as Fort Hood Santa's Workshop) was renamed to honor the renaming of Fort Hood to Fort Cavazos. We invite you to tour our workshop and see how we support our community. We welcome new volunteers year-round and during shop days, and are available to answer questions and present to your unit or community group. At Santa's Workshop, Christmas lasts all year long!

We believe the holidays should be a time of joy and celebration for all families, including military families facing financial challenges. Our organization provides new toys to children in the Fort Cavazos military community, spreading cheer and love during the holiday season.
We believe in the power of education to transform lives. Our Education program provides school supplies and resources to children in the Fort Cavazos military community, empowering the next generation of leaders.
Military families sacrifice so much to serve our country, and we believe it is our duty to support them in any way we can. Our organization's Capacity Building program provides financial assistance and resources to military families facing financial challenges.
At Santa's Workshop at The Great Place, the parents browse our well-stocked shelves to make the most appropriate selection from brand new toys, games and books for their children. This past year we helped over 1,800 Fort Cavazos children. Have a happy holiday!
